BOLTON -- High school students in Bolton, have raised more than $7,000 to send Steven Truscott and his wife on a much-needed vacation.
In August, the Ontario Court of Appeal acquitted Truscott of the 1959 rape and murder of 12-year-old Lynne Harper
Truscott, now 62, was just 14 when he was convicted of a crime he did not commit.
Humberview secondary school has long championed the cause of clearing Truscott's name and launched a campaign to raise money so Truscott could finally enjoy the freedom he waited so long for.
They decided an all-expenses paid trip anywhere in the world was an appropriate gift and an oversized boarding pass was presented to Truscott and his wife at the school yesterday.
