December 1, 2010.
Dennis Edney
Injustice Speaks:
On December 1, 2010, AIDWYC
hosted its first Injustice Speaks event.
The keynote speaker was Canadian
criminal defence lawyer Dennis Edney.

Mr. Edney's dynamic and informative
address focused on his experiences representing Canadian Guantanamo inmate Omar Khadr, and on the injustice he believes this complicated and controversial case has brought to the fore. The thought-provoking presentation, on the intricacies of a case that has incited both outrage and compassion, will doubtless fuel a discourse on issues of injustice.

Guests also heard from Ron Dalton, a member of the AIDWYC Board of Directors and an individual who knows first-hand the pain associated with being wrongly convicted.

As a forum for debate, discussion and networking, the evening marked a successful launch for the Injustice Speaks series and the introduction of the AIDWYC Foundation.

Many Thanks For the success of this event many thanks are owed to the generous support of our sponsors: The Law Foundation of Ontario; Sack Goldblatt Mitchell; Humphrey Greenspan Lavine; King Reed and Associates Investigation Services; and Cooper Rock Productions.
